I borrowed a pair of Women’s Nike Structure Triax 11 so that I could take them for a test run and give you a solid review of these running shoes. I took them to my local track and put them through their paces.

nike structured triax 11 review

The Women’s Nike Air Zoom Structure Triax is a lightweight shoe designed with a woman’s foot in mind. The heel is rounder and narrower with extra cushioning so that the shoes firmly grip a woman’s smaller heel. The Zoom Structure Triax’s are stability shoes, and are suited to runners with normal pronation, or slight overpronation (most runners are in this category), with normal to high arches. The Women’s Triax is softer and more flexible than the men’s Structure Triax.

In reviewing Nike running shoes, I’ve noticed that many of the newer models, including the Structure Triax 11, feature an upwards curve to the sole in the outer heel. This is a fantastic feature! And here’s why: Most runners land on their heels, often on the sharp outer corner of their running shoes. The 90 degree angle of most running shoes between the bottom of the shoes and the side makes for a sharp, and bio-mechanically incorrect transition for runners who land on their heels (I’ve read that 80% of runners land on their heels). Nike’s perfect solution to this problem is the curved outer sole in the heel. It creates a smooth transition between the heel and toe.

When I first put on the Structure Triax, I was concerned with a bubble I felt in the sole below the ball of my foot. Once I had worn the shoes for a short time, the sensation was lessened and when I started running, I welcomed the cushioning in the forefoot, especially at higher speeds when I was landing more on the ball of my foot.

Running in the Structure Triax’s was a bit of fresh air - literally: One of the first things I noticed about the Structure Triax was the abundant ventilation. The mesh in the forefoot allows gusts of air to pass through, and kept my feet delightfully cool.

The Structure Triax is a stability shoe, and has a great combination of soft cushioning and support. The Triax 11 is lower to the ground than typical running shoes, for exceptional stability. My feet felt like they were properly positioned with every step, but they still had enough freedom of movement that I didn’t feel constricted.

Sounds like a good pair of running shoes huh? Well, go buy a pair to try and get ready to run faster in a pair of Zoom Structure Triax’s! They are a great lightweight running shoe for continued support while logging long miles and superb responsiveness. And you may want to note that Nike shoes tend to run on the small side in terms of size so consider ordering a larger shoe.

For me, this is the ONLY shoe I have worn since I started running about 5 years ago. They last me about 4-5 months with heavy distance running. Once they didnt have my size and I tried another shoe, but i quickly developed foot pain and went running to buy another pair of the Structure Triax. I dont even try them on anymore - just go in and buy another pair. They have gotten me through 4 marathons and will hopefully get me through my 5th in a few weeks! Love them!
