Nike Air Pegasus running shoes go way back to 1983 when the first Pegasus running shoes went on the market. Modern Nike Pegasus cushioning technology is light years ahead of the early models. It includes a system of cushioning featuring full-length Nike Air, Phylon and PU. Other improvements include a better fitting upper, arch bridges, flex grooves, more flexible forefoot and gender-specific crash pads. The Women’s version of the Pegasus running shoe introduced a shoe construction specific to the female foot anatomy and gait in 2004. The Nike Air Pegasus is a tried and true running shoe. It is versatile and fits many-a-runner!

The Air Pegasus have an all around soft feeling from the heel to the toe. They felt really comfy to run in and would be a good training shoe for a neutral runner.
The Air cushioning is much less noticeable compared with some of Nike’s other shoes using the Air cushioning technology (the Vomero for instance has little bubbles of air that you can feel the second you put the shoes on). Personally I think the subtler cushioning is preferable, but that is different for everyone.
I’m not terribly impressed with the construction of the Pegasus - it seems like corners have been cut in their design and they appeared a bit cheap to me.
