The Asics Kayano 14 is a good choice for someone needing major stability. For me, as a fairly neutral/ slight overpronator, the stability was much too great. The cushioning was good in the heel and the forefoot, but the feel was much to stiff on the arch. I also feel this shoe runs small. I buy running shoes a half size large, and even at that this shoe is snug. I feel the toebox and the heel are two narrow, causing blisters on the inside of the heel and the outer edge of the foot near the toes. My toes felt fairly crowded as well, which may have been remedied in another half size up. Overall, I think this shoe lacks responsiveness and could use more cushioning in the forefoot. The weight is nice and light, and it’s very stylish. I would recommend this shoe to severe overpronators with fallen arches.
