This is a decent trail running shoe that should be able to transition to all types of trails from groomed to the rocky stuff.
The upper is very supportive and would make for a good non-Gore-Tex winter running shoe due to the construction of the shoe not having a lot of mesh as well as having a rubberized mud guard all the way around the shoe just above the sole.
The toe box in this shoe is low and somewhat narrow compared to something like a Vasque Blur or a Montrail Continental Divide.
The forefoot of this shoe is also somewhat narrow for my wide forefoot and the overlays on the shoe rubbed my foot. The heel however is very secure and locks in tight.
From a tread standpoint these have a lot of grip.. a lot, hence the name. The tread is like a lot of little rubber flexible nubs that really dig in.
