I’m a 175 lb runner with a hip imbalance which causes me to suppinate on one side. The 2140s along with my orthotics help me correct this. I am a faithful user of this line of shoes and it consistently gets high marks from Runners World, Fleet Feet, and most importantly, ME. They wear well, are comfortable, and are amazing light. I’d recommend them to anyone who needs similar support!
I can tell a great pair of running shoes when I can’t feel them during my runs. The Asics 2140 make me feel like I’m not even wearing running shoes, seriously! I usually rotate a pair of 2140’s and another pair of Asics Kahanas. I’ve been using this combo of shoes for about a year now and I haven’t had a single injury. Both shoes are durable, but I think the 2140’s do stand up a little better than the kahanas.
The Asics 2140 is a great stability shoe - light and supportive.
These shoes are extremely comfortable and lightweight. I’m a 170 lb runner and the shoes provided me with excellent support, although they would not be suited to pronators. If you’re looking for an excellent overall trainer, I’ve stood by this shoe for the last several upgrades and still swear by it!
